NOTE:  In 2011/2, I will UP-DATE this site with more of the 3,000 photos I have taken of Fort Ord. In addition I will provide some current information about what is going at the old base. At the present time there are several proposals and new activities for this large expanse of prime California property. One “project” that has been talked about for sometime is the establishment of of a FORT ORD museum. This project is very important for the Community and is now starting to take shape. One of many possibilities for a Fort Ord Museum presence that is being considered, is at a “new” planed Veterans Clinic (2013/4) to be established on old Fort Ord.

Other on going items on the old base.

1.  In 2008 The Fort Ord Dunes State Park opened near the old Stilwell Hall Club.

2. 2. There has been on going Firing Range “ordnance” clean-up for over 10 years.
   

3. 3. There are large commercial developments that have been completed and several are currently in planning or construction including some that are residential homes.
   

4. 4. Much planning work is being done and local support organizations are continuing with the Veterans Cemetery. See -->    http://ccvcf.com/
   

5.  There is ongoing improvement of the California State University at Monterey Bay .
